Barbara Louise Fredrick, 75, of The Woodlands, Texas and formerly of Benton, Arkansas, passed away May 18, 2016. She was born April 15, 1941, in Hackensack, New Jersey to the late Robert and Harriette Watson. Barbara was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed talking to her friends and making them laugh, picking blueberries, sitting outside and watching wildlife, and playing bingo.
She worked as a bookkeeper most of her career. After retirement, she picked and sold blueberries and helped her husband, John, with his garden. She loved to watch hummingbirds and enjoyed playing with her cat, Tiger. After her husband John passed away, she took the opportunity to move closer to her children and enjoyed spending much of the last year with them. She loved her husband and family and worked hard to provide a wonderful life for them.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Harriette Watson; her loving husband of 55 years, John Fredrick; a daughter, Suzy Caple; and a grandson, Jason Fredrick. She is survived by her children Vince Fredrick and wife Mitzi of The Woodlands, Texas and Cyndie Fredrick and her husband, Jason McClure of Pearland, Texas; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanne Spica of Port Charlotte, Florida as well as many other family members and friends who loved her and will miss her always.
A reception visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm Thursday, May 26 at Smith - Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, AR. The funeral service, officiated by the Reverend Mike Schleider, will be held at 10am Friday, May 27, at Zion Lutheran Church, 300 Avilla East, Alexander, AR 72002.
