Charley Rice, 83, of Benton, AR passed away February 8, 2015. He was born January 12, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to the late Edward and Belle Rice.
Charley was a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. As a young man, he enjoyed golfing. His favorite hobby was woodworking. He made many fabulous pieces of furniture that family cherishes to this day. He was a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church.
Charley is survived by his loving wife, Alma Rice; step-daughter, Cynthia Hamel; brother-in-law, Sherman Ragsdale and wife Leona; and many other family members and friends who loved Charley and will miss him always.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 12th from 4:00 -6:00 P.M. at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, AR 72015. Funeral service, officiated by Pastor Brian Moore, will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be Monday, February 16, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Brooking Cemetery in Raytown, MO.
