H. Highfill

H. Frank Highfill of Little Rock was born May 20, 1944. He lost his ten-year battle with prostate cancer on August 17, 2017. He was the son of Reuban and Maude Highfill. He is survived by his wife, partner, best friend, and love of his life Bobbie Highfill, his daughter Marti Highfill-McDonald and his favorite son-in-law Shawn McDonald of Little Rock. He also leaves behind his older brother Bill Highfill (Bert) of Little Rock; his only grandson, Dylan Highfill of Akoka, TN; his bonus daughter, Arlene Green of Sheridan; his adopted family, Randy, Barbara and Logan Holmes of Little Rock; his in-laws, Lou and Mike Woodall, Tommy and Sharon Coates and sons Rob and Todd Highfill. Frank had a host of friends, nieces, nephews, and hunting and fishing buddies whom he loved.
Frank was a retired contractor and master carpenter, but his passion was nature, hunting turkey, squirrel, deer, gigging frogs and fishing. He loved working hard, and spending time with family and friends camping.
He served with Bobbie at his side as a hunter education instructor for Arkansas Game and Fish for many years. Together, they built the trappers cabin at the Little Rock Nature Center and remodeled one in Pine Bluff. He often reminded friends that he had moved every wall at Arkansas Game and Fish main building (and some of them twice).
Frank was a Methodist and attended Highland Valley UMC. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 690, NRA, NWTF where he served as vice president, a volunteer firefighter for thirty-seven years at CFD, and taught apprenticeship carpenters.
A very special thanks to Dr. Thomas Sneed, Kalen Rogers, Lisa, Karen, Mona, Carolyn and all the staff at CARTI Cancer Center, and Dr. John Dietrich for taking great care of this sweet, precious man. He will be missed terribly.
A celebration of Frank's life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 19 at Highland Valley United Methodist Church, 15224 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers please make donations in memory of H. Frank Highfill to Highland Valley UMC, CARTI Foundation, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or St. Joseph Indian School in South Dakota.
