Hugh "Dennis" Gant, Jr., 71, of Benton, AR passed away Friday, September 26, 2014. He was born October 2, 1942 in Fort Smith, AR to the late Hugh D. Gant, Sr. and Frankie Smith Gant.
Dennis enjoyed water skiing in his early years. Another favorite hobby was working in his yard. Dennis loved driving his red 1976 T-top Corvette until it didn't run as smooth as he liked, and traded for a red Mustang convertible. Dennis was a Razorback fan and held season tickets for ten years. He is remembered for taking care of family and putting others first. Dennis was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton. He was a Christian man and spent great time studying the Bible. Dennis' grandchildren and family were the light and love of his life.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger "Dale" Gant.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dianna Lynn Pounders Gant of Benton, AR; daughter, Courtney Lynn Cook of Benton, AR; grandchildren, Carter and Ashlynn Cook; as well as many other family members and friends who loved Dennis and will miss him always.
Memorial service officiated by Rev. Rick Grant is Wednesday, October 1st, 2014 at 11 A.M., Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, AR 72015. Visitation held one hour prior to service time.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Benton Building Fund.
