John Fredrick

John Paul Fredrick, 79, of Benton, Arkansas passed away May 9, 2015. He was born April 8, 1936 in Park Falls, Wisconsin to the late August and Lillian Boness Fredrick.
John was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He had a massive vegetable garden and sold much of his produce. His children remember him planting blueberry bushes over thirty years ago and they are now over eight feet tall and are still bearing fruit. It became a joint family effort to pick all the berries. John was a chainsaw artist and sculpted beautiful wooden creations. He loved his family and worked hard to provide a wonderful life for them.
John was preceded in death by his parents, August Fredrick and Lillian G. Boness Fredrick; daughter, Suzy Caple; two brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Barbara Watson Fredrick; children, Vince Fredrick and wife Mitzi of The Woodlands, Texas, Cyndie Fredrick and husband Jason McClure of Pearland, Texas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian Nephew of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; as well as many other family members and friends who loved him and will miss him always.
Reception visitation will be held Tuesday, May 19th, 2015, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., at Smith - Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, AR 72015. Funeral service, officiated by Rev. Mike Schleider, will be held Wednesday, May 20th, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, 300 Avilla East, Alexander, AR 72002. Memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
