Lavonda Gayle Grant Hines passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 after a courageous ten year battle with cancer. She was born June 4, 1958 in Benton, Arkansas. She was 56 years young and a life-long resident of Bauxite, Arkansas.
Lavonda was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Dale Grant and Carolyn Jeanette Bowers Grant as well as her first husband, Dennis Ray Hines.
She is survived by her spouse of twenty years, Edward Wayne Jones; three children: son-Micah Kane Hines and wife Jennifer Lynn Hines; daughter, Candace Lee Hines; son, Zachary Ryan Lamere; three siblings: Ricky Dale Grant, Debra Denise Grant, and Walter Gregory Grant. She was also "mamaw" to seven grandchildren: Charles Dale Grant, Dennis Ray Hines Grant, Madison Faith Hines, Emma Grace Grant, Aubreana Michelle Grant, Willow Belle Hines, and Jeffery Dewitt Grant. Lavonda had an abundance of nieces, nephews and other loving family members. She will be dearly missed by an uncountable number of friends and her many "neighborhood children" that came to be a part of her life and loved her enough to create a permanent bond.
The family will have a farewell service in honor of Lavonda's life on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, AR 72015.
