Mark Dewayne Melson, age 40, passed away November 3, 2013. Mark was born on August 5, 1973 in Little Rock, AR.
Mark is survived by his wife; Crystal Melson of Benton, Arkansas, 4 children; Jacob, Autumn, Destiny, and Rebecca Melson of Benton, AR, mother; Janice Melson of Mt. Ida, AR, brother; Gary York of Little Rock, AR, sister; Christy York of Alexander, AR, and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him always.
Mark was preceded in death by his father; Andrew Garrett.
Mark was known for always putting his family first. He provided all their needs and as many of their wants as possible. His children looked to him as their hero. He is remembered as being a "genius" at working on motorcycles and car motors. Mark was also an amazing cook. Some of the family favorites include bbq ribs, lemon pepper chicken, and steak. Mark attended Benton First Church of the Nazarene. His family felt blessed and privileged to have Mark in their lives.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 7th, 2013, 6:00 P.M. at Benton First Church of the Nazarene, 1203 West Sevier Street, Benton, AR with Pastor Shannon DuPree and Ben Lane officiating. Flowers and donations towards the funeral expense can be sent directly to the church by 2:00 P.M. Thursday, Nov. 7th. For more information call 501-778-7100.
