Maudie Udey

Maudie Ann Ramsey Udey went home on July 11, 2014. She was born in Nashville, TN on March 19, 1915 to Manuel and Ida Hendrix Ramsey.
Maudie was in the first graduating class of Bryant High School and served as Salutatorian. She attended nursing school to become a LPTN and went to work at Benton State Hospital in 1950. She retired in 1977 with 27 years of service.
Maudie loved her family, church, and never met a stranger. She was always proud to tell her age, that she took no medicines, and always shared her faith.
Maudie is survived by her children; Pat Edmonson and husband Lynn, Doris Menken and husband Robert, Larry Udey and wife Pauline, Marian DuVall and husband Joe; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who loved Maudie and will miss her always.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers; and special grandson, Jeffrey DuVall.
Special thanks to Four Seasons, Kim Mosley, and her staff that not only took care of her, but loved her. You made the last five years much easier and worry-free.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 14th, 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Smith Family Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, AR, 72015. Funeral service officiated by Rev. Mike Titsworth, will be held Tuesday, July 15th, 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Baptist Church, 702 Church St., Benton, AR 72015. Private burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
