Steve Pruitt
Steve William Pruitt passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on December 27, 2016, at the age of 70. He was born on May 3, 1946, to Narvel William Pruitt, Jr. and Flossie Willota "Ferrell" Pruitt
He was a graduate of Bryant High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. While he retired from the U S Postal Service, he also served as plant manager at Vulcan Materials, worked as a painter for several years, and had held other jobs as well. He would always tell others he was "a jack of all trades and master of none", except for when it came to pool and shuffleboard.
Steve is survived by his two daughters who were his pride and joy, Karen Guinn (Michael) and Kim Godeaux (Tom). He also leaves behind his grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Maddison Guinn (Hanna), Hannah Tarver (Chad), Matthew Black, Logan Black and two precious great grandchildren Greyson Guinn and Paxton Tarver, all of Benton.
Other survivors include his dance partner and best friend of 15 years, Beverly Doan; brothers, David Pruitt (Joan), Paul Pruitt (Laura), Wayne Pruitt (Brenda), Don Pruitt (Melissa), Tommy Pruitt; half-sister Brandy Rogers (Josh), step-sisters Tracy Holt (Steve), Tammy Carter and Glenna Sue Ferrell; stepmother Sue Pruitt, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom he held dear to his heart. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ralph Pruitt.
Visitation will be held 11:30 AM-1:00 PM at Smith Benton Funeral Home, Thursday, December 29th with funeral services immediately following. Following the service everyone is invited to join the procession to Pinecrest Memorial Park where Steve will make his final resting place alongside his family.
Pallbearers include his grandsons Maddison Guinn, Matthew Black, Logan Black, Chad Tarver, along with Robert Turner and Chad Derrick. Honorary pallbearers are members of Saline County Moose Lodge #2567.
