Dane Walker

Dane Walker, age 64, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019. Dane was born in Hope, Arkansas on August 4, 1955. He had a long battle of kidney disease that he fought courageously.
Dane was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dorothy Walker; and a brother, Mike Walker, all of Benton.
He leaves behind a beloved daughter, Jessica Walker of Benton; sisters: Lisa Cockrell of Benton and Kathy Diggs of Little Rock; and many other family members and friends.
Dane was raised in Benton and spent most of his life there. He graduated from Benton High School in 1974 as President of his class. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Dane was also a past President of the Benton Civitan's.
Most of his career was in the furniture business, beginning at a very young age with Gingle's Furniture in Benton. He then continued to work for Ferguson's, Dillards, and Haverty's, holding several management positions throughout. For several years, Dane owned and operated Walker's Furniture Store in Malvern.
Dane had a unique talent for beautiful landscaping and gardening that he so enjoyed prior to his illness.
Dane was a kind and beautiful man who accepted his illness with optimism and hope. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation held 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, November 1, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas. Funeral held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 2.
