Don Wesley Rhea 5/30/1938 - 8/22/2018. Don was born in Benton, AR to the late Clarence and Adell Rhea. He died knowing his Lord Jesus Christ paid his debts in full. He fought with all the strength he had to stay every day possible to care for those who loved him.
Don worked for 20 years as the Program Coordinator of Our House Homeless Shelter. After retiring, he worked several more years for Arkansas Rice Depot. Not even his family know all the acts of generosity and kindness he performed, but what they know is amazing.
Don was proceeded in death by daughters Kellie Rhea and Allison Stroud, and one baby lost in pregnancy. Survivors are his wife Laura Rhea of North Little Rock, sons Robert Mark Rhea of Texas and Randy Rhea, (Sophia), and daughter in law Buggy Rhea, all of Benton. Also survived by grandchildren Alex (Jessica) Stroud of Beebe, Joshua Stroud of Conway, Sara (Miles) McPherson of North Little Rock, Caleb Stroud of Mayflower, Wesley Rhea and Jessica (Jesse) Baxley of Benton, and Kara and Leah Stegall from Hot Springs and Ashley Sisco of Texarkana. Three great grandchildren brought him smiles and love.
Don's request is that in lieu of flowers you have dinner with the ones you love and enjoy them while there's time, and give at least a kind word or a cup of cold water to a stranger in need.
