Elbert Floyd "E.F." Black, Jr., 74, of Benton, Arkansas went to be with the Lord December 19, 2018. He was born October 12, 1944 in Bauxite, Arkansas to the late Elbert Floyd Sr. and Alice (Steele) Black.
E.F. was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. He was the Division Manager at Donovan Fresh Water Marine Sales. E.F. received a Master's degree in Hospital Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. In 1977, he became a fellow in the American Academy of Hospital Administrators- being one of eighteen selected from over four hundred applicants. E.F. served as the administrator of Saline Memorial Hospital for ten years. He was a hard worker, yet always found time to spend with his family and was involved in all of his grandchildren's' activities.
E.F. was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Linda Butler Black; and his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Robert Black of Benton, Arkansas; daughter, Tricia Houpt of Benton, Arkansas; grandchildren: Matthew Black, Logan Black, Haley Mansfield and husband Chandler, Hunter Wray, and Harper Wray; great-grandchild, Lacey Mansfield; brother, Steve Black and wife Frances of Little Rock, Arkansas; and a host of family and friends who love E.F. and will miss him always.
Funeral service, officiated by Dr. Randy Hawkins, will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 22, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 23908 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock. Visitation held from 10:00-10:30 AM, prior to service. Per E.F.'s request, please wear casual attire. Burial following service at Bauxite Cemetery with family members-Matthew, Logan, Kyle, Garrett, Chandler, and Hunter serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Daniel, Rob Gilliam, Tony Brown, Richard Shannon, Dr. Joe Martindale, Rick Willis, Tommy Tarver, Lloyd Brown, Jason Silvy, Leon Cornett, Sid Gipson, Kenneth Steele, Dr. Ron Rosnermanz, Kevin Trotter, and Rob Kelly along with men from Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
