Katherine Lyle-Pitcock

Our sweet sister, Katherine "Carrie" Ann Lyle-Pitcock, took her last ride home, Friday, May 1, 2020. She is pain and worry free from all of our earth's daily challenges. Carrie lived her entire life in Saline County and met the love of her life there. She married James Pitcock in 1998. She remained in love with him and loyally defended him until the end.
Carrie was born on April 8, 1974 and is survived by her mother, Patricia Hilton and father, Mike Lyle (Barbara). She is also survived by her children: Justin Lyle (Loran), Stetson Arron Slate, and Ashley Slate-Vaughn (Tim); and step-daughter, Jessy Pitcock. Carrie had four sisters: Jennifer Barnett (John), Shannon Simpson (William), Krystal Harris -Saul, and Meagan Harris (Hollis). Carrie is also survived by her mother-in-law, Laveina Pitcock; six grandchildren; three step- brothers; a step-sister; and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved Aunt Carrie. Carrie had a special bond with Meagan's son who she called "Uncle Hilton". Carrie will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Love your life. Take pictures of everything. Tell people you love them. Do things that you're scared to do. Eat the cake. So many of us die and no one remembers a thing we did. Take your life and make it the best story in the world.
Carrie, we know that you you are now free from all of our worldly troubles, but what we would give to have one more of your "Hey Sister" calls. We will miss you terribly, but knew God needed you more.
There will be no visitation or funeral due to COVID-19. A Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Smith-Benton Funeral Home.
