Larry Mattingly
Larry Allan Mattingly, 74, of Benton, Arkansas went to join the Lord January 4, 2019. He was born July 17, 1944 in Henderson, Kentucky to the late Dorris and Lillian (Caton) Mattingly.
Larry was a member of Benton First Church of the Nazarene. His passion was music. He was a proud member of the band "The Villains" where he played lead guitar and sang vocals. Larry also enjoyed reading, target shooting, and golf. He was a grill master and made nothing but excellence. Larry worked as a police officer with the Muncie City Police Department and was also a deputy sheriff with the Delaware County Sheriff Department.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of forty-six years, Pamela Mattingly of Benton, Arkansas; children: Roxanne Volkman and husband Scott of Evansville, Indiana, Kristy Hood and husband Dewayne of Traskwood, Arkansas, Shelly Orcutt and fiancé Shad Odell of Navarre, Florida, and Todd Mattingly of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren: Justin Mertz, Robbie Volkman, Ryan Pollich, Ashley Orcutt, Brandi Volkman, Zayn Odell, Samuel Mattingly, Makayla Hood, and Collin Pollich; great-grandchildren: Lexi Volkman and Zoey Volkman; as well as a host of family members and friends who loved Larry and will miss him dearly.
Funeral service, officiated by Rev. Brady Lane, will be held Monday, January 7, at 12:00, at Benton First Church of the Nazarene, 1203 W. Sevier Street, Benton, Arkansas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Memorials may be made to Benton First Church of the Nazarene Church, Saline Memorial Hospice, or Parkinson's Foundation.
