Marlene Smigel, 80, beloved wife of Carl J. Smigel, loving mother of Richard and Carl L. and grandmother to Thomas and David.
Born to the late Victor and Mertice Anklam on August 20, 1938 she is also survived by brother Larry.
Marlene was very active in all things creative. She enjoyed ceramics, line dancing, quilting, stamping, card making, and scrapbooking. Upon arrival to Hot Springs from Hudson, WI Marlene enjoyed boating and entertaining friends. She founded the first Ladies Red Hat Society in the Village. She was the Queen for nearly 17 years and never missed a monthly outing and luncheon. Marlene will be missed by her family and many friends as well as her over 200 Teddy Bears and over 1,000 miniature ceramic Teddy's whom she loving collected over the years. A service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church after the New Year. Details will be included when arrangements are finalized.
