Rosetta Jean Edmonson, 87, of Benton, went to be with her Lord on January 20, 2018 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on October 30, 1930 to William Daniel Looper and Laretta King. She married Leon Edmonson on September 24, 1949 in Benton, AR.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lilburn Leon Edmonson; her children: Donna Edmonson, Danny (Regina) Edmonson, Jackie (Johnny) Dawson and Harold (Renee) Edmonson; her 11 grandchildren: Trina (Jon) Lindsay, Felicia (Daniel) McBay, Shaun Ferguson, Emilee Meyers, Ryan (Bonnie) Dawson, Rebecca (Bryan) Jones, Matthew (Kym) Edmonson, Tanner (Candace) Smith, Tad Smith, Kelsey (Caitlyn) Crews and Dustin Crews; her 23 great grandchildren and her two great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; William Daniel (Bertha Mae) Looper; her mother: Laretta King; her brothers: Walter Looper and Jack Looper and her granddaughter: Jaclyn Renee Dawson.
She was a member of Holland Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Benton. She was a loving housewife and a beautician in her younger years. She loved cooking, sewing, crocheting and all of God's little creatures-including hummingbirds and butterflies. Her greatest joys were her family and her faith. She came from a small family. However, after she married Leon, she gained nine brother-in-laws and seven sister-in-laws who were very special to her along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Holland Chapel in Benton, AR, with Brother Kim Hammer and Nick Calaway officiating. Visitation will be held in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. Jean was known for her colorful personality and her colorful wardrobe. The family requests that guests wear bright colors to honor her memory.
Special gratitude to Saline Memorial Hospice, primary nurse, Angel Heath, and all the staff for their love, care, and respect shown to our mother over the last six months. Appreciation is also given to Heartland Care Center and Evergreen Living Center staff.
