Stanley Vrana

Stanley William Vrana, age 62, of Benton, Arkansas passed away Sept. 2, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Feb. 13, 1955 in Waco, TX. Stanley is survived by his wife of 28 years, Amy Brashears Vrana and sons Parker Vrana and Garrett Vrana all of Benton.
Stanley was a 1973 graduate of Hallsville High School, Hallsville, TX. He attended Kilgore College and received an Associate of Applied Arts degree from Pulaski Technical College. For the last 5 years, he took pride in working for the students and faculty at Howard Perrin Elementary where he was lovingly referred to as Mr. Stan and Stan the Man. Stanley's greatest joy was his family. Vacations at the beach with his family and all things sports gave him a great amount of pleasure. His passion for bowling led him to meet his wife. He could boast that he once bowled a perfect 300 game. He loved watching his sons play ball and run cross country and track. Stanley worked meticulously to have a well-manicured yard.
He is also survived by his parents, Harry and Janice Svrcek Vrana of Longview, TX, siblings, David Vrana and his wife Robyn of Norman, OK., Terry Rhodes and husband Robert, Bubba Vrana and wife DaWanna , Lance Vrana all of Hallsville, TX, and Lynne Pipak and husband Daniel of Longview, TX. Other survivors are his father and mother-in-law, Don and Dorothy Brashears of Benton, sister-in-law, Julie Brashears Harkrider and husband Cary of Tulsa, OK, brother - in-law, Clay Brashears and wife Sharon of Benton, AR. Stanley was loved by his nieces and nephews, Donna, Austin, and Bailey Harkrider, Chelsea Harmon and husband Kyle, Courtney and Cassidy Brashears, Jeff Rhodes, Casey Rhodes and wife Baili, Megan Adams and husband Kyle, Travis and Conner Vrana, Allison McInnerney and husband Keith, and Pierce Pipak (his Godson) and several great nephews and nieces.
Reception visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 5, Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton. Funeral service, officiated by Dr. Ben Crismon: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 6 at First Methodist Church, 200 N. Market Street, Benton. Burial, officiated by Father Paul Worm will follow at Smith-Rosemont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CARTI. Services entrusted to Smith-Benton Funeral Home.
